Improved User Experience Through Intelligent Insights

Improved User Experience Through Intelligent Insights

Client Overview

Our client is a well-known video-on-demand service provider in the Indian market. After launching their mobile application successfully, they decided to add a web based version for their users.

As a part of their ongoing expansion strategy they recently collaborated with premier production houses to stream their content exclusively in India. Their recent launch gained more popularity than expected. At the moment their platform has 16 million+ subscribers and it is anticipated to increase in the upcoming years.

Currently their household reach is 16-20 million and this number is expected to grow in the coming years. Their main aim now is to provide seamless experience with personalized content to their users.

Challenge

Since their existing data engineering infrastructure was not cost-effective and efficient, our client decided to hire our remote team solutions to fix this. To overcome their existing bottleneck, our experts created user insights to understand their consumption patterns.

Our Solution

Post audit—our experts fixed their bugs to improve overall efficiency in the process. We used BigQuery in order to store, ingest, and process users’ data. UUID was used to check playbacks, datetime intervals, and check the throughputs for each user. Dataproc was used to process batch data for different user types. Lastly, Apache Iceberg was used to unify all data.

Business Outcome

Our efficient data pipeline setup has reduced the cost of generating insights. Approximately 5-6k USD is being saved monthly, post our implementation. These insights now help our client serve users better by suggesting specific content based on their persona.
